2. Our Commitment

Your data stays on your device. We do not collect it, store it on servers, or share it with anyone. This policy explains what data RunGrid accesses on your device, how it is used locally, and your rights.

3. Data RunGrid Accesses

RunGrid may access the following data on your device, only with your explicit permission through iOS system prompts:

a) Camera

Purpose: To capture photos during your runs.

Storage: Photos are saved only to your device's local storage within the RunGrid app sandbox.

Sharing: Photos are never uploaded to any server or shared with third parties.

You can revoke camera access at any time in iOS Settings.

b) Apple Health (HealthKit)

Purpose: To read running workout data (distance, duration, pace) so you do not have to enter it manually.

Data read: Running workouts only โ€” distance, duration, energy burned, source device name.

Data written: RunGrid does NOT write any data to Apple Health.

Storage: Workout data displayed in RunGrid is derived from Apple Health and cached locally on your device only.

Sharing: Health data is never uploaded to any server, shared with third parties, or used for advertising or data mining.

Compliance: RunGrid fully complies with Apple's HealthKit guidelines (App Store Review Guidelines Section 5.1.3). Health data is never stored in iCloud, never used for advertising, and never disclosed to third parties.

You can revoke Apple Health access at any time in iOS Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices.

c) Location

Purpose: To tag your run photos with the place name where they were taken (e.g. "Victoria Park").

Data used: Reverse-geocoded place name only. RunGrid does NOT track your route, record GPS coordinates over time, or build movement profiles.

Storage: Only the place name string is stored locally alongside photo metadata on your device.

Sharing: Location data is never uploaded to any server or shared with third parties.

You can revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings.

d) Photo Library

RunGrid saves photos to its own app sandbox, NOT to your Camera Roll, unless you explicitly choose to export a photo.

RunGrid does not access or read your existing Photo Library.

4. Data Storage

All data is stored locally on your device:

Photos: Stored in RunGrid's app sandbox on the device filesystem.

Run metadata (distance, time, pace, location name): Stored in local device storage.

Preferences (name, run time preference, weekly goal): Stored in local device storage.

RunGrid does not:

Store data in iCloud or any cloud service.

Transmit data to any external server.

Collect analytics, telemetry, or diagnostic data.

Contain third-party SDKs that collect user data.

5. Data Processing and Cross-Border Transfers

RunGrid does not process personal data on external servers and does not engage in cross-border data transfers. All data processing occurs exclusively on your device. No personal data leaves your device at any time during normal operation of the app.

6. Data Sharing

RunGrid does not share any data with:

Third-party analytics services

Advertising networks

Data brokers

Social media platforms

Any external servers or APIs

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data exists only on your device for as long as you keep the app installed. You can delete your data at any time:

Individual photos: Delete from within the app.

All data: Use "Delete all my data" in Settings, which permanently removes all photos, runs, collections, and preferences.

Uninstalling RunGrid removes all app data from your device.

8. Children's Privacy

RunGrid is intended for general audiences and does not target children under 13. The app does not require account creation, does not collect identifying information, and does not transmit any data off your device. RunGrid does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in any jurisdiction.

9. Apple Health Data โ€” Specific Disclosures

In accordance with Apple's App Store Review Guidelines (Section 5.1.3):

RunGrid does not use HealthKit data for advertising or use-based data mining.

RunGrid does not disclose HealthKit data to third parties.

RunGrid does not store HealthKit data in iCloud.

RunGrid uses HealthKit data solely to display your running workout statistics within the app for your personal reference.

10. Health and Fitness Disclaimer

RunGrid is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Running statistics displayed in the app (distance, pace, duration) are derived from Apple Health and are provided for informational purposes only. Their accuracy depends on your device hardware and Apple Health configuration.

Consult a qualified healthcare provider before beginning or modifying any exercise program. Do not rely on RunGrid for any health-related decisions.

11. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Revoke any device permission at any time via iOS Settings.

Delete all your data from within the app at any time.

Export your data from within the app.

Uninstall the app to remove all data from your device.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA): Because RunGrid does not process personal data on external servers and does not engage in cross-border data transfers, the typical GDPR obligations regarding data controllers, processors, and cross-border transfer mechanisms do not apply in the conventional sense. All data processing occurs locally on your device under your control. If you have questions about your rights under GDPR or any other applicable privacy legislation, contact us at hellorungrid@gmail.com.

12. Third-Party Services

RunGrid uses the following third-party service:

a) RevenueCat (Subscription Management)

Purpose: To manage in-app subscriptions (RunGrid Pro) and process purchases through Apple's App Store.

Data shared: Anonymous purchase receipts and subscription status are communicated between your device, Apple's servers, and RevenueCat's servers to validate and manage your subscription.

Data NOT shared: Your photos, run data, health data, location data, or any personal content is never sent to RevenueCat.

RevenueCat's privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy

Subscription purchases are processed by Apple. RunGrid does not directly collect or store payment information (credit card numbers, billing addresses, etc.).

If future versions introduce additional cloud features or third-party integrations, this policy will be updated before any such features are enabled, and your explicit consent will be required.

13. App Store Privacy Label

RunGrid collects minimal data related to subscription management (purchase history) through Apple and RevenueCat. No personal content (photos, health data, location) is ever transmitted off your device. See Apple's privacy nutrition label on the App Store listing for full details.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL and noted with an updated "Last updated" date. Material changes that affect your rights will be communicated through the app. Continued use of RunGrid after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
